In Australia the Redback spider is one of the most recognised and most feared pests that our clients encounter! Redback spider control is a must. On external walls, under outdoor furniture or on outdoor play equipment – Redbacks can nest in many places that are hard to see and may go unnoticed.
Our client in Helensvale had just finished construction of their new home.
After they had moved in and gotten settled, they noticed an unusual kind of web appearing on their outdoor furniture and on some leftover building materials in the back yard.
After looking closer they found an adult Redback spider underneath one of their outdoor settings.
Concerned about what they had found they contacted Amalgamated Pest Control Gold Coast to arrange a solution to their problem.
How Amalgamated Pest Control treat Redback Spiders
After performing a thorough site inspection, our technician found several more Redbacks on the property congregating around the leftover building supplies.
If the problem wasn’t rectified the infestation would have likely spread to many other areas on the property including the internal areas of the home.
To solve our customers redback spider problem our technician performed treatment specially designed for the control of Redbacks. The treatment was applied to the following areas:
- External walls of home
- Under eaves and patios
- Along boundary fence lines
- Underneath outdoor furniture
- Around leftover building supplies
- In the roof cavity
The treatment to the external areas was applied in a liquid spray form, using a synthetic pyrethroid product designed for a safe, lo/no odour application.
The treatment in the roof cavity consisted of a dust application designed to reach all areas in the roof cavity and eliminate any Redbacks that were nesting in the area. Roof cavities are a very common place that redback spiders like to nest. They can gain easy access to the internal areas of the home through down lights and other openings.
After the treatment great reports were given by the client to advise us that all the Redbacks were gone and after cleaning up the webs none had returned.
